dovetail solutions, a full-service communications firm with offices in Colorado and California, announced that Monica Kurtz has joined the firm as vice president of client success, a key leadership addition that aligns with the company’s continued expansion into California and its 20th anniversary milestone. The role reflects dovetail solutions’ commitment to investing in its next generation of leadership, strengthening its service offerings and advancing its long-standing mission of building strong relationships, driving strategic communications and creating community impact.
With more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, business development and cross-functional leadership, Kurtz will be instrumental in shaping dovetail’s future. Her position spans three core areas: business development, client service leadership and team development.
In this role, Kurtz will dedicate herself to business development, leading pipeline growth, proposal strategy, pitches, partnership expansion and the continued evolution of dovetail’s service offerings to meet emerging opportunities. She will also serve as a senior adviser in client services, guiding strategy, elevating relationships and ensuring the firm consistently exceeds client expectations. Additionally, she will devote part of her role to leadership and mentorship, coaching and developing staff while supporting a culture grounded in collaboration, innovation and professional growth.
“dovetail solutions has always operated at the intersection of strategy, relationships and impact,” Kurtz said. “This role brings together everything I’m passionate about: strengthening partnerships, elevating client success and helping teams grow. I’m honored to join a firm that truly lives its values and is boldly redefining its next generation.”
Kurtz brings extensive experience across public, private, academic and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, she served as corporate marketing lead for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s Innovation, Partnering and Outreach divisions, where she led strategic communications initiatives, managed complex multistakeholder partnerships and oversaw agency collaboration, content development and performance reports. She also held roles at the Colorado School of Mines, Pilgrim Advertising, Resort Technology Partners, and previously at GBSM from 1996-1999, and spent more than a decade as an independent strategic communications and marketing consultant, including previous work with dovetail solutions.
“Monica’s arrival marks a pivotal moment for dovetail solutions,” said Andy Boian, founder and CEO of dovetail solutions. “Her leadership, vision and deep expertise strengthen the foundation we’ve built and accelerate the trajectory we’re stepping into. This position was created with our long-term growth in mind and Monica is exactly the leader to help guide our firm into its next chapter of service, innovation and success.”
Kurtz holds a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Pennsylvania State University. A lifelong learner, she earned a certificate in AI-Powered Automated Workflows from the University of Denver and in leadership from Leadership Golden.
