Training for any type of communications is always a good thing to do.  Regardless of the type, training in our field is ideal, as it does allow for lessons to be learned, mistakes to be corrected, and anecdotes to be learned.

When a crisis occurs, the training is that much more relevant. The ability to have already been in a mocked up experience, working with professionals on how to handle an urgent situation, can then be that much more positive.

Because of the nature of crises, one can never fully prepare for everything. It is because of training, however, one can be ready with as much as possible, for a successful outcome.
