Executive & Leadership Coach
about Jen Thurman
Jen Thurman works with high-performing professionals who want to increase their leadership skills, create balance in their lives and elevate their impact in the world.
With two decades of experience on corporate leadership teams, Jen knows how tricky it is to break out of the “it’s worked so far” mindset of professional development. In her search for a new way of thinking and succeeding in business, Jen became an expert in Core Energy Leadership® – which provides a creative, asymmetrical way of transforming problems into opportunities.
Jen provides a container for leaders to focus on the ‘whole human’. Together, they create intelligent, thought-provoking, challenging, compassionate space for transforming their leadership, thought patterns and behaviors to get them where they want to be.
With an innate gift for simplifying the complex, Jen adapts quickly to the nuances of individual circumstances. She partners with her clients to transcend the confines of those circumstances and gain a fuller awareness of their purpose, values, and gifts. And to uncover and shift the internal blocks that are holding them back so they can approach work, relationships, and wellbeing in a new way.
From the very beginning of her corporate career, Jen has been the simple, straightforward voice of curiosity and reason–unafraid to question the status quo or to point out the obvious. That commitment to authentic, empathetic questioning is the key to building relationships and trust–which are the foundation for positive change.
In her corporate career, Jen led communications for Medtronic’s Surgical Innovations–one of that company’s largest business units. Before that she was vice president of communications for a national building supply company. She spent eight years in telecom at Level 3 Communications (now CenturyLink) and cut her teeth in business managing communications at the Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder.
Jen holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies and an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She received her professional coaching certification from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and is ACC certified by the International Coach Federation.
