Jordan DeHerrera

Project Coordinator

Jordan DeHerrera comes to dovetail solutions with a plethora of unique experiences in harnessing the power of businesses, governments, and nonprofits to improve communities. He attends the University of Denver on a Boettcher scholarship where he is set to graduate magna cum laude with a B.S. Degree in Economics, a Master Degree in Business Administration with a Financial Analyst specialization, and a Master Degree in Accounting. He was named a Fulbright finalist in 2008 and was also ranked by USAToday as one of the top 80 college students in the U.S. He is the recipient of the Alonzo B. May award, given annually to the most outstanding scholar in business economics at the University of Denver. DeHerrera has done extensive research at the University of Denver and at the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia into how businesses can most effectively engage and improve their communities. At the age of 22, he has guest lectured at the University of Denver, the University of Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain, and in Bratislava, Slovakia for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Making a Difference

At the age of 20, DeHerrera founded an international service learning program to Juarez, Mexico for students at the University of Denver. At the age of 22, he started a nonprofit organization in Colorado that provides economic research for governments considering property rights reform to aid in development. In 2005, he was named an Honorary Member of Rotary International for his work with third world development efforts and went on to be honored with Rotary's Golden Ruler distinction a year later. Locally, he has contributed to the efforts of the nonprofit MicroBusiness Development, a local microfinance organization for burgeoning small business entrepreneurs in the Denver area. DeHerrera has also assisted in health care legislation for the working uninsured in Colorado and New Mexico. He currently volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and as a fundraiser for youth sports leagues in the Denver area.
