Alexis Boian brings years of marketing expertise to dovetail solutions™, having consulted with both nonprofit and for-profit organizations across the country on branding, communications, and strategy. Organizations Alexis has worked for include Milesbrand, Colorado Ballet, 2Wrongs.com, and the Integrated Nutrition Education Program through the University of Colorado.
At the age of 25, Alexis—after witnessing the September 11 terrorist attacks from her balcony in Brooklyn, NY—founded and organized the September 11 Quilt Project, a national “healing” project that received enormous acclaim. A giant American flag made up of individually designed panels of cloth that came from all over the world, the September 11 Quilt Project toured the country and was featured in such publications as The New York Times, People magazine, TIME magazine, and The Washington Post, as well as on such television programs as CNN Headline News. The flag was recently donated to the Colorado Historical Society.
making a difference In addition to her professional work, Alexis donates considerable time to nonprofit organizations and has started a foundation of her own. The Young Philanthropists Foundation is an organization dedicated to educating K-8 students on the benefits of engaging in their communities with a mission to give kids the power to change our world through philanthropy and volunteerism. The Foundation runs the successful Penny Harvest program in more than 30 schools across the Front Range.
Alexis is Co-Chair of the Rape Assistance and Awareness Program (RAAP) in Denver, a graduate of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Leadership Program, a member of the Leadership Denver class of 2008 through the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, and was a nominee for "2008 Philanthropist of the Year" through the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation.
